We have been in business for over 30 years, and are often fixing mistakes left by other roofers. We therefore know the most vulnerable areas of the roof, and use the best quality materials available that fit your budget.
We note when there is insufficient roof slope for shingles, thus requiring a roof system that is designed for low slope applications. We also note when there is insufficient attic ventilation that can shorten the life of your shingles and overwork you’re A/C in the summer. We then make recommendations based on industry standards.
We are a family business. All the work is supervised by family members and all workers are employees. Our work is not sub-contracted out to others. Because of their care and experience we have achieved and maintained a high level of quality in applying roofs in the East Texas area, where we have been roofing since 1967.

Although "J. A. Kay Roofing" started in 1984 our history goes all the way back to 1967.
In 1967 John Kay learned roofing from the ground up, literally, by carrying shingles up a ladder onto roofs in the Big Sandy and Gilmer area of East Texas. In 1974 he formed Kay's Roofing which later became Kay-Mac Roofing.
J. A. Kay Roofing is and has been one of the longest running roofing companies in the East Texas area. Our proven strategy for success and striving for quality is what has allowed us to maintain a solid reputation. Which is verified by our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
After many years John has since passed on the company to his son Craig Kay who is assisted by his brother Weston and his uncle Roy McWhorter.
